Mary Greene

  • Executive Director

    Since moving to Lander, Mary has devoted herself to community volunteering and board service for many local nonprofits and annual events including the Lander Art Center, Challenge for Charities, Good Samaritan Community Meal, Little Free Pantries, and more. Additionally, she co-founded Lander Womentum (2017), women in leadership nonprofit based in Lander, and Lander Presents (2020), bringing live music and events year-round to the broader community.

    Prior to joining the Lander Community Foundation, Mary worked for four years at the Wyoming Outdoor Council. Before that, she had an eleven-year career with NOLS, working as a senior field instructor, a program supervisor, and as the field staff recruitment coordinator.

    In her free time, she enjoys horse packing and hiking in the Wind River Mountains, cooking and baking for friends and family, and connecting with new and old friends on a deeper level. She and her husband, Ariel, have called Lander home since 2011. They have two daughters, Halle Wendell and Louise, both born in Lander.

    Mary shares, “as the executive director of the Lander Community Foundation, I will strive to continue growing the strength and spirit of this community that is so special to me. I will ask your opinion and listen to your ideas. I will work hard to continue to build a stronger, more vibrant community.”

Linda Lindsey
  • Chair

    Linda retired in 2019 after a 27-year career as the NOLS Human Resources and Diversity Director. Prior to that she was a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse at Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado and was a NOLS instructor in the late ‘70s and ‘80s.

    She is a former board member of the Lander Chamber of Commerce, the Wilderness Medical Society and Leadership Wyoming. Linda and Monty have provided first aid support for the 4th of July half marathon from their tandem recumbent. This primarily involved yelling encouragement at the runners and walkers and Linda is happy to say that she has never had to open the first aid kit.

    Linda’s passions include hiking, backpacking, cycling, gardening, and supporting non-profits within Lander and the State of Wyoming.

Lorielle Morton
  • Treasurer

    Lorielle Morton, CPA, is a partner with Fagnant, Lewis & Brinda, P.C. She has over twenty years of experience in accounting. Lorielle’s CPA practice consists primarily of consulting, planning, and tax preparation. Her areas of emphasis include tax planning and consulting for individuals and small businesses, partnership taxation, and consulting on general business issues.

    Lorielle was born in Wyoming and raised in Wyoming and Montana. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Montana in Missoula, MT, in 2002. Lorielle also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wyoming in 2006. Lorielle is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    Lorielle has been and continues to be involved in the Lander community in a variety of ways. She is Past President of the board of directors for the Lander Chamber of Commerce. She is also the Co-Coordinator for the State of Wyoming for Casting for Recovery, a nonprofit organization aimed at enhancing the quality of life for women with breast cancer through fly fishing. She also actively supports several youth sports groups.

    Lorielle and her husband, Jade, have two active daughters. Lorielle enjoys fishing, reading and participating in the many activities that her kids partake in.

Leslie Van Orman
  • Leslie is a Wyoming native, born and raised in Casper. After completing her BA at the University of Wyoming in elementary and special education and her MA at the University of Northern Colorado to work with the blind, she moved to Lander to work as a teacher for students with visual impairments.

    She was the director of the International Climbers' Festival for 4 years. For 16 years she has worked for the Wyoming Department of Education as the program manager for their Vision Outreach Services. Vision Outreach supports the needs of people of all ages who have visual impairments and in that role she is the Wyoming Deaf-Blind Project Director and oversees the operation of state and federal programs related to low vision or blindness.

    She is currently a member of the Lander Lions Club, Lander Cycling Club, Lander Nordic Ski Association, Todd Skinner Legacy Board of Directors and is President-Elect of the Northern Rockies Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (NRAER), a professional organization of individuals who work with the blind and visually impaired.

Amanda Sempert
  • Amanda is a Lander native who moved back in March of 2019 to start her own business after 10 years of living and working all over the US. Amanda has worked in a variety of industries and learned from numerous professionals. She has a B.S. in Business Administration - Management from The University of Montana in 2008, and more recently an MBA from Lynn University in 2017.

    Marketing is her passion, as her business offers social media marketing and consulting services. She also works at Elemental Performance + Fitness as a Coach, Climb Strong as a Manager, and is the Director of Performance Climbing Coach. Amanda has been a volunteer at the Lander Children's Museum for 20 years, and enjoys finding ways to support other local non-profits Amanda is excited to serve on the LCF board and thinks it is the perfect way to invest in the community.

    In her free time, you can find her hiking, mountain biking, climbing, or anything outdoors. Amanda has a cat, Rikki, and a dog, Molly, who keep her sane, smiling, and active.

Cori Slingerland
  • Born and raised in Lander, Cori grew up in the Agriculture community and has been an advocate for the industry ever since.

    In 2012 she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors of Animal Science Livestock Production. Upon graduation, she moved to Texas where she worked for an elite equine breeding and training facility until she moved back to her hometown of Lander in the spring of 2017. She loves being back in Wyoming and is enjoying being part of the community of her hometown.

Deb Reguera
  • Deborah was born and raised in Wisconsin and fell in love with Wyoming in the 1960s when her family visited a dude ranch. After years of living east of the Mississippi and annually visiting her family’s cattle ranch outside Lander, she and her partner Bill decided to make Lander home.

    Deborah’s career started in New York City in the financial department of a Fortune 100 company. Since that time she has moved numerous times for business, worked for several nonprofits, and started a social enterprise business. She has also served on the boards of Challenger Center, Chicago Academy of Sciences, American Heart Association of Connecticut, The Nature Conservancy - Wyoming Chapter, and a family foundation. She and Bill have four grown daughters between them - all of whom have fallen in love with Wyoming.

Ellen Bechtel
  • Ellen is a Wyoming native who moved to Lander in 2004. She owns Elemental Performance + Fitness, Lander's local climbing gym and fitness center, with her husband Steve. In 2008, she and Steve started Climb Strong, an internationally recognized online climbing coaching business based in Lander.

    Ellen has two children, Sam and Anabel who attend Lander’s public schools and keep her busy with their activities. Ellen graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a B.S. in Social Studies Secondary Education. She directed the International Climbers’ Festival in 2005 and then served on the Central Wyoming Climbers’ Alliance Board for multiple terms.

    When she’s not coaching clients and managing the gym, Ellen enjoys being outside rock climbing, mountain biking, and nordic skiing. Ellen is excited to be part of the Lander Community Foundation’s continued support of the Lander community.

  • Mark has over 35 years of experience in youth sports. He was the Chief Operating Officer for UK Elite Soccer, a company owned by Steel Sports. Before joining Steel Sports, Mark was the Executive Director of Aspen Valley Ski/Snowboard Club for 15 years. The non-profit focused on developing “Great Athletes, Great Kids” including many Olympians, Paralympians and X-Games athletes. The club was the United States Ski and Snowboard Association’s National Club of the Year in 2011 and twice during his tenure was recognized as the Aspen area Non-Profit of the Year.

    Mark also spent 17 years with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), considered the gold standard in teaching wilderness skills and leadership. Over the years Mark taught backpacking, rock climbing, and winter courses. He oversaw the hiring and training of field staff and served on the director team for 8 years, as Finance Director and Alumni & Development Director.

    Mark holds a BS in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an MA in Mathematics from the University of Washington.

Rick Fagnant, CPA
  • Board Member Emeritus

    Rick is originally from Kemmerer, WY and has been with Fagnant, Lewis & Brinda Certified Public Accountants since his graduation from the University of Wyoming in 1977. His areas of focus are tax planning strategies, succession planning, and tax planning strategies for buy/sell transactions.

    Rick is past president of the Lander Rotary Club, The Lander Chamber of Commerce, The Lander One Shot Antelope Hunt Club, and The Wyoming Society of CPAs. He served as a Council member representing WY on the American Institute of CPAs for six years and currently serves on the Wyoming State Board of CPAs and the Board of Directors for the Wyoming Community Foundation.

    He is extremely active in his church, has been married to his wife Babes since 1979, and together they have two grown children Ben and Annie.

  • Rita had a 27 year career in Telecommunications. Rita's career started with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in May of 1983 prior to the AT&T divestiture. After many mergers, acquisitions, and Corporate rebranding, Rita retired from AT&T in June of 2010. Rita was fortunate to spend her career in various management positions in finance, accounting, and customer service organizations while based in San Francisco and San Ramon California.

    Rita and her husband, Michael Kotrick, became full time Lander residents in March of 2013. Rita has always had a "giving back" attitude and quickly became involved in several Lander non-profits in a variety of capacities. Currently, Rita is the President of the Board for the Lander Performing Arts organization, Treasurer of the Board for First Stop Help Center, and Treasurer of the Lander United Methodist Church.

    Rita likes to cycle, hike with friends and their dogs, and play golf.

  • Mark grew up in Lander and graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1986. He has vocational/technical school certificates as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s Degree. Mark’s wife, Julie, is the school Librarian at Gannett Peak Elementary, and they have two grown sons, Zach and Jake.

    Mark worked for 18 years in a variety of capacities in a family-owned mechanical contracting business and has been a United Methodist pastor for 15 years. Mark’s widespread involvement in our community through various projects, organizations, and events demonstrates his commitment to the Lander Valley area.

John Larsen
  • John moved to Lander with his wife Debbie and two young daughters in January of 1980. They moved into the house that they currently live in. Not long after moving to Lander, John, his father, and his brother went into business together forming the industrial construction company, Triple L, Inc. which has been in business for over 40 years.

    John’s community service began with the Boy Scouts of America which he was involved with for many years. He has served on numerous boards over the years including the Lander Airport Board, the Wyoming Oil and Gas Safety Alliance, the Fremont County Solid Waste Board, and previously served two full terms on the Lander Community Foundation Board.

    John enjoys almost anything to do with aviation, including the numerous fly-ins at Lander’s Hunt Field, and has been an Angel Flight West Command Pilot since 2005. He and his wife especially enjoy visiting their 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and great-grandson.
