2017 Challenge for Charities 4th of July Races
The Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids' 1-mile Mad Dash are a part of a larger community fundraising event, called the Challenge for Charities, that has raised over $1.4 Million during the past six years for local organizations that do invaluable charitable work in our community.
Early registration for races is highly encouraged. Registrations before June 20th or after may not receive their preferred size t-shirt. Those registering after June 26th are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Late registrations are first come, first serve for any remaining t-shirts. Half Marathon and 5K race fees increased on June 26th. Only one race registration per racer is permitted, as we need to collect specific information.

This year, you have the option to purchase one Lander Rotary Buffalo BBQ ticket with each race registration. To purchase additional BBQ tickets, click here.
Participants are STRONGLY encouraged to pick up their packets prior to the event at Wild Iris Mountain Sports, 166 Main Street, July 3rd, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. to avoid race-morning lines and delays. If necessary, race packets may also be picked up on race day from 5:00 a.m. until the various race starts. (Note: Any race day registrations for the half marathon after 5:30 a.m. will not have a timing chip, and registrations for the 5k after 6:30 a.m. will not have a timing chip.)
The half marathon walkers and runners will start together promptly at 6:00 a.m. The 5K race begins at 7:00 a.m. The Kids' 1-Mile Mad Dash begins at 8:30 a.m.
Water will be available on the Half Marathon route at approximately 4, 6.5, 8.5 and 11 miles. A portable toilet will be available at mile 6.
Stick around after the race for breakfast (it is included in your race registration!) beginning at 7:30 a.m, race awards begin at 8 a.m., the Lander's 4th of July Parade begins at 10a.m and Lander Rotary's Annual Buffalo BBQ runs from 11am-2pm at City Park.
Please note, we cannot provide refunds of race registrations/BBQ tickets, only transfers, up until June 26th. Also, there will be no refunds if the race or BBQ need to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
